We are seeking a motivated Polishing & Honing Grinder to join our Carbide division in Rockford, IL. This is an entry-level position on 1st shift working 6:30am-3:00pm with excellent opportunity for growth. The individual in this role will begin with honing and polishing duties and have the opportunity to advance into grinding and basic support for Carbide Die Makers.

This position is ideal for someone with shop or manufacturing experience who is eager to learn specialized carbide finishing skills. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to grow in the trade.

Responsibilities :

• Perform honing and polishing of carbide components
• Learn and assist with basic grinding operations
• Support Carbide Die Makers with rough-up and finishing tasks
• Follow work instructions and quality standards
• Handle materials and tools carefully to avoid damage
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Work safely in a manufacturing/shop environment
• Develop additional carbide-making skills through on-the-job training

• Previous shop or manufacturing environment experience required
• Ability to learn polishing, honing, and basic grinding processes
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Willingness to train and grow into more advanced carbide skills
