Title:  Electrical Panel Wiring Technician
Location:  Rockford
Salary Range:  $18/hr
Position:  ELECTRICAL ASSEMBLER
Description: 

We have a client located in Rockford who is interviewing for Experienced Panel Wiring Technicians. You would be responsible for preparing and installing electrical wiring of signal and power circuits to achieve a quality and cost-effective product.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs a combination of tasks to assemble electronic components, sub assemblies, products, or systems.
  • Reads work orders, electrical schematics, production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Installs complicated tasks such as large wire connectors, different sized multi-pin connectors, complex cable assembly, ESD knowledge, handling and installation of fiber optic cables.
  • Connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Performs operations such as wire cutting, stripping, crimping all sizes of wire using the associated tools and equipment.
  • Work with engineering to develop and manufacture harnesses (simple to complex).
  • Cuts wire to specified lengths and routes, combs, twists, wraps, ties, and attaches wire to terminal points.
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other using mechanical drawings and layouts.
  • Mounts assembled control components, such as transformers, control relays, circuit breakers, drives, power supplies, on chassis panel using crimps, screws, bolts, rivets, solder, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, and automation equipment.
  • Installs finished assemblies or sub assemblies in cases and cabinets.
  • Performs soldering operations that include all wire sizes (large to small) using soldering.
  • Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to electrical control assemblies.
  • Uses test equipment (i.e., fixed gages, power supplies, multi-meters) to perform continuity and troubleshoot problems on electrical operations including live circuits
  • Performs in production inspection, conducts functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies, components, wire harness, and plugs, using an ohmmeter, test lights, and other electrical testing instruments to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
  • Performs panel layout duties or assists others with layout tasks as required.

 

 

Requirements: 
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and electrical equipment such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), electro-mechanical controls, motor controllers, conveyance, etc.
  • Knowledge of 120/220 single phase wiring, all applications of different voltages of three phase wiring
  • Must have a strong understanding of industrial automation - wiring and building industrial control panels based on electrical schematics, and/or wire lists.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics; commercial/industrial wiring experience.
  • Knowledge of panel fabrication and build, component lay out, electrical enclosures, electrical assemblies, and controls.
  • Strong technical and electrical/mechanical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with testing and measurement techniques and procedures.
  • Familiarity with document release and revision control.
  • Ability to understand and apply standards and practices.

 

REQUIREMENTS Should have 2-3 years of relevant experience or advanced degree in field
