We are seeking an experienced CNC Gear Hob Operator for a 2nd shift opportunity for our client in Roscoe, IL. This role is responsible for setting up and operating gear hobbing machines to produce precision gears. The ideal candidate will have prior gear hobbing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to maintain quality and efficiency in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate gear hobbing machines to cut gear teeth to specification
• Interpret blueprints and job orders to ensure accurate production
• Install and adjust tooling as needed for each job
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments
• Inspect finished parts to ensure gear quality and adherence to tolerances
• Perform in-process quality checks using measuring tools and gauges
• Troubleshoot issues and maintain consistent production output
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Gear Hob Operator (required)
• Ability to set up and run gear hobbing machines independently
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Experience adjusting tooling and machine settings
• Knowledge of gear quality standards and inspection methods
• Ability to use precision measuring tools
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work 2nd shift hours (5:30 PM – 4:00 AM)
• Reliable and dependable
