Warehouse Associate

Location: Rockford, IL
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Lunch: 30-Minute Unpaid Lunch
Pay Rate: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Warehouse Associate to support daily distribution center operations. This position is responsible for unloading trucks, picking and packing orders, processing shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring warehouse organization. The ideal candidate will have prior warehouse experience, forklift experience, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Unload incoming trucks and floor-loaded containers
• Pick, pack, and process customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Package orders in cartons or on pallets and shrink-wrap palletized shipments
• Label products, cartons, and pallets according to customer requirements
• Operate shipping software including UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager
• Verify orders and maintain documentation using Microsoft Office products
• Match received quantities to invoices and report discrepancies to management
• Put inventory away in designated warehouse locations
• Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activities
• Process customer returns as needed
• Restock workstations, dock areas, and backup inventory locations
• Assist with product rework and special projects as required
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
• Empty trash and cardboard recycling as needed
• Support all warehouse and distribution center functions as assigned

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of warehouse, shipping, receiving, or distribution experience required
• Experience operating a Reach Forklift required
• Working knowledge of UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager preferred
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift
• Ability to work in a warehouse environment and perform physical labor as needed
